Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic dedicated individuals to fill the position of Community Liaison Worker for Neekaneet First Nation.
The Community Liaison Worker, under the supervision of the Community Liaison Manager, will provide a holistic approach to the wellness of the child, the family, and the community that is based on First Nations law, culture and traditions, the guidance and involvement of Elders, and the support of family and community members.  The Community Liaison Worker will work in conjunction with Elders, community-based programs, and the YTCCFS Inc. program staff to provide early intervention and or prevention to families at risk while remaining within the parameters of the, the Community-Based Prevention Principles, Community Partnership Protocol, FSIN Child & Family Support Act, Saskatchewan Child & Family Services Act.
Applicants must have either a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) OR Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and eighteen (18) months experience in a human services field OR Certificate in Social Work with 12 months of direct child protection experience Certificate in human services field would be a definite asset. Experience working in human services field. Experience in developing and implementing prevention projects.
Applicants must have the ability to work with and in conjunction with the community programs and services and YTCCFS Inc., ability to assess and identify at-risk families, the ability to refer and engage the appropriate resources, the ability to use Professional Judgement and Critical thinking, the ability to work with and support the Child and Family Services Authorities. Must have Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of the Cree, Nakota and Saulteaux Culture and the political and social objectives of the YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations.
