Parent Aide Program is an in-home support program for families who are struggling to overcome barriers to their success. We seek to support parents through client focused service and advocacy in order to reduce family breakup. We are currently seeking a full time Coordinator of Family Support and Outreach. This position is responsible for the daily management and program delivery of our voluntary Diversion program. This position includes initial frontline work with families, including parenting assessments and developing Parent Empowerment Contracts. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge in directly managing staff, family risk assessment, data collection and program evaluation. This position requires exceptional relationship, conflict resolution, problem solving and communication skills, and a proven ability in writing and reporting. The chosen candidate will be able to demonstrate a comfort level with multi-tasking and managing competing deadlines. SSPC is looking for a candidate with a vision for program improvement and a commitment to anti-oppressive practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work or Bachelor of Social Work
Minimum of 1-2 years of direct experience managing staff (mandatory)
Knowledge of the TRC calls to action and the related impact on our work
Frontline experience working with families
Knowledge of harm reduction philosophies
Familiarity with legislation, programs and the Social Service Sector
Competency in computer skills/software (Experience with Case Management software an asset)
Competency in data collection and measuring program impact
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client advocacy
Parenting skills assessments
Assign, monitor and debrief with staff working with diversion families
Develop and oversee Parent Empowerment Contracts
Monitoring/Supervision of staff to ensure quality programing
Accurate data collection
Maintaining community partnership relationships
