Description

Royal West Early Learning Centre is seeking a full-time cook with a dash of love for children.

Hours:         7.5 daily (Monday  Friday)
This is a 4-5 week term position with the possibility of extension.

Wages:         $13.75-$18.25 (dependent on education and experience)

Education:    Minimum 1 year certificate in Food and Nutrition Management or related field, including valid Food Safe Level 1 & 2

Experience:  a minimum of 2 years required

Start Date:  April 29, 2019


DUTIES:     
    Prepare two snacks and a hot lunch for 50 children aged 6 months to 5 years
    Prepare snacks/meals for parents as required
    Ability to follow the Canada Food Guide and the Saskatchewan Child Care Regulations
    Follow menu plan and recipes which use natural, whole ingredients and prepare snacks and meals from scratch
    Monitor / order supplies on an ongoing basis
    Weekly grocery ordering
    Knowledge of strategies to promote and support healthy eating in young children
    Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen
    Awareness of allergies and cross contamination and ability to modify menu or provide alternative food items
    Other duties as assigned by the Director

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
o    Current Criminal Record Check
o    Organizational and time management skills are needed to ensure duties are fulfilled to suit the mealtimes as planned
o    A pleasant personality suitable for working around young children.  Some knowledge of child development would be considered an asset.
o    Ability to work closely with others as part of a team
o    Flexible and creative with good problem solving skills
o    Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License preferred
o    Current First Aid and CPR an asset
