Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Nursing Practice and Education, the Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for ensuring all work is in alignment with the organizations missions, goals, values and strategic plans to promote high quality, safe client care. This is accomplished by assisting in establishing and maintaining best practice; assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating unit(s) orientation, in-servicing and other education programming; assessing learning needs; acting as a clinical resource; promoting client and family centered care, participating in committee work as assigned, participating in continuous improvement activities; developing and maintaining client and staff resources. This position supports all of the education needs of the acute care services within Humboldt District hospital (HDH) including instructing specialty certification courses (e.g. ACLS) and site specific clinical applications (e.g. SCM). The CNE will function as a member of the interprofessional clinical team to promote effective delivery of client care within HDH, including regular direct communication and direction from the HDH Site Leader and HDH Manager of Nursing and liaising with the Rural and Urban Clinical Nurse Educators.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certificate
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current CPR Certification
Experience
