Description

Regina Youth for Christ is a Christian mission organization that impacts over 6,000 youth every year in Saskatchewan. RYFC runs 4 group homes as well as community and school outreach programs in Regina and Moose Jaw. As a missions organization, Regina Youth For Christ requires all staff to be in agreement with their Statement of Faith. We are currently hiring for a Youth Recreational Coordinator with the following ability/experience:
Leadership
The ability to oversee YCWs on shift
Plan and coordinate recreational activities for the youth
Lead a team and is able to set and maintain healthy professional boundaries
Ability to ensure that the youths needs are being met and that the daily assigned tasks are being completed
Meet regularly with the Shift Manager and Program Manager for planning and reporting meetings
The ability to follow house routines, procedures and expectations at all times

Health and Safety
Implement the fire and evacuation drills and plans
Monitor the administering medication and ensuring that the medication procedure is followed
Follow House OH&S guidelines
Bring all concerns of procedure and staff or youth health and safety issues to the Shift Manager and/or the Program Manager

Youth Care
Supporting the Youth Case Plan at all times
Build trusted relationships with youth and staff
Motivate and empower youth
Support youth in problem solving and decision making
Provide behavioral support as needed by redirecting behavior and applying consequences where appropriate
Ability to hold a youth accountable for their choices
Ability to communicate effectively to support youth and inform agencies
Ability to provide conflict management and to refer issues

Training Needed
Applicants must have Occupational Aquatic Safety Training, Basic Water Rescue Certification and First AID CPR. Bronze Medallion Life Saving Certificate and National Life Guard Certificate will be considered an asset.
