Description

Buffalo Pound Water is seeking a highly motivated Relief Operator/Maintenance Person to start a career in operations.

The Relief Operator/Maintenance Person employee is expected to provide relief shift coverage to the Senior Operator and Regeneration Plant Operator/Maintenance On Shift positions. The employee's responsibilities include operation of the carbon regeneration facility and assisting the Senior Operator. During the Regeneration Pant shutdown period, when not assisting the Senior Operator, the employee will be required to perform the duties of a maintenance person.

 - Perform security checks within plant and on grounds
 - Complete and maintain plant logs and reports
Specific Skills
 - Wear and use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment
 - Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals
 - Read recording instruments to measure output and consumption levels, bacterial content, chlorine and fluoride levels
 - Perform maintenance and repairs to plant machinery or equipment
 - Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators and other plant equipment
 - Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water
 - Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally
 - Monitor and read recording instruments to detect equipment malfunctions and ensure plant systems and equipment are operating within prescribed limits
 - Make adjustments to plant equipment and systems
 - Complete and maintain plant logs and reports
 - Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content
 - Analyze test results and instrument readings
