Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Aquatics Supervisor, the Swim Instructor/Lifeguard performs lifeguard duties. She/he opens and closes the aquatic facility, and plans and prepares swimming lessons. She/he prepares and organizes the equipment for each class, and ensures the safety of participants while in the pool facility. The Swim Instructor/Lifeguard instructs students at their appropriate level in accordance with guidelines set out by Red Cross and Lifesaving Society programs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma AND some experience in a related field
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience will also be considered
AND
Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS)  pool option qualification
Current CPR Level C and Standard First Aid qualifications
Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
Current Lifesaving Instructor certification, as required
Language Requirement: English Essential
Experience Requirements:
In dealing with the public, including, but not limited to, children
In performing lifeguard duties
In the implementation of training and practice sessions
In the development and implementation of individual training plans
In cash handling
Salary:  $14.03/hr - $17.06/hr
