Description

The Know Your Status Program Coordinator will work with our partners, the 7 member First Nation communities of the Saskatoon Tribal Council, urban and rural communities to develop and implement the Know Your Status Program objectives. This leadership role will include education and awareness to end the stigma of HIV, HCV, and STIs for urban and rural and indigenous communities. The Know Your Status Program Coordinator will improve education and awareness surrounding HIV and injection drug use and ultimately lead to an increase in HIV HCV STI testing. With an emphasis on indigenous culture and harm reduction philosophies the Know your Status Coordinator will lead community engagement and education by participating in program delivery and evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- Implements the Know Your Status program goals, objectives by building rapport with diverse groups of populations and distinct communities;
- Collaborates with staff within the program and provides HIV, HCV, STIs and harm reduction specific education for staff and clients in urban and rural communities.
- Community engagement and development by working extensively with urban and rural, indigenous and non indigenous, communities to improve 90/90/90
- Make recommendations and assist with development of policies and procedures;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Human Service field with 5 years related experience; or Bachelor of Science Nursing is preferred, with 5 years nursing experience;
- Knowledge in the areas of HIV, HCV, STIs and harm reduction;
- Knowledge in fiscal, program/service planning, implementation and evaluation;
- Experience in statistical data collection;
- Knowledge of the political, social and economic objectives of the Saskatoon Tribal Council and of the Dakota, Cree, and Saulteaux cultures will be considered an asset;
- Must provide a current, original, Canadian Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment.
