Preparing and cooking different recipes in the menu, keeping in mind any allergies and notifying customers of that, helping the kitchen staff whenever required, keeping the kitchen area clean every time, working in a fast paced environment with proper knowledge of the different recipes, cooking any meat dishes properly keeping in mind the proper cooking time for different meats, following the safety procedures and guidelines every time and making sure other staff follows the same, keeping kitchen a safe area to work for, garnishing the recipes to maintain the food quality, avoiding any wastage of food, reporting any stocks shortage to the supervisor, having proper knowledge of the kitchen equipment usage
Specific Skills
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Estimate food requirements and costs
- Ensure quality of food and determine size of food proportions
- Work with minimal supervision
- Prepare and cook full course meals
- Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, etc.)
- Clean kitchen and work areas
