MacLean Keith is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, long-term, full-time family law legal assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be assisting a senior partner in areas of family law and general litigation. A minimum of 5 years of experience is required. You must be able to:
- Take initiative and work with little supervision;
- Prioritize and organize with attention to detail;
- Handle and protect confidential material; and
- meet deadlines.
You will assist our team in providing excellent legal services and be responsible for reviewing client files, preparing letters, assisting with documentation to be filed with the courts and registered documents with ISC. Contact with the public is required. You will also be responsible for general administrative duties, such as answering phones, greeting clients, opening files, data entry, filing and billing.
- Typing speed of 40-50 wpm and be proficient in MS Office;
- Excellent English language skills;
- Excellent writing skills including letter and documentation formatting;
- Excellent ability to follow instructions;
- Knowledge of ISC, ChildView, excel and basic accounting is an asset;
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating system and programs;
- Must be able to work in a team oriented atmosphere and also independently with minimal supervision; and
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
