The Student Summer Worker position with the Yara Community Gardens is an opportunity for high school or college students to learn about gardening, community development and working with a non-profit. The responsibilities of the Student Worker will include planting, watering, weeding and harvesting the community gardens in Moose Jaw, as well as general maintenance of the gardens. Other job duties include maintaining the other community garden sites, promoting garden-related events,and helping with school tours. This position will work closely with and report to the Project Coordinator, but requires independence and initiative from the Student Worker. Creativity on the job is encouraged and there are many other avenues to contribute to the program (childrens programming, building projects, workshops, art, etc.) depending on the interest and skill of the Student Worker.
