Cote First Nation is Seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Community Youth Worker. Youth worker will be stationed at the Youth centre. All applicants should possess the following qualifications:

-Have a certificate or diploma in a field working with youth or combined education and or experience in working with youth.
-Teach the youth good social skills; how to have fun without the use of drugs and alcohol; how to be safe at all times and especially how to be team players.
-Plan and deliver programs which will empower the youth and act as an advocate for the young people?s interests.
-Focus on hope, giving youth the confidence, ability and the structure they need to deal with the challenges they face.
-Must have knowledge of issues pertaining to youth.
-Must be able to supervise youth and be creative in providing various programs.
-Must be reliable and work well with children and youth.
-Must have Class 5 driver?s license and have a reliable vehicle.
-Must demonstrate a drug and alcohol free lifestyle and have been clean and sober for a minimum of one year.
-Keep daily logs of work performed and hand in reports in a timely manner.
-Must have adequate knowledge of the resources available to youth and be able to request on behalf of the youth.
-Must have adequate computer knowledge in order to be able to submit monthly reports to Cote Health Director.
-Must be able to work without direct supervision.  
-Also to work cooperatively with Cote Rec Plex, Cote Rink staff, Cote Health Staff, Cote Chief and Council and other resources.
-Must have some knowledge of the Saulteaux culture.
