Description

Abernethy Co-operative Association is looking to fill a Cashier/Clerk Casual/Part-time position.  The successful candidate must be available to work between the hours of 7:30 am - 6:30 pm Monday to Saturday.  Position will be on a casual basis leading into part-time by September with a flexible start date.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Provide efficient and courteous customer service at all times;
    Accurate operation of cash register and point of sale terminal;
    Pump fuel for customers as required;
    Assist with stocking shelves and ensuring store is kept neat and tidy at all times;
    Assist with planning and organizing of various store displays;
    Continual monitoring of store activities to ensure no unauthorized removal of merchandise;
    Daily housekeeping duties;
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;    
    Assist with various administrative / clerical duties as may be occasionally required;
    Other duties as required.

Safe Food Handling certificate and the ability to prepare simple hot meals would be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will display a professional, positive and friendly approach and attitude.  They must be reliable and punctual for all scheduled shifts including Saturdays.  Previous experience in a similar position would be beneficial.
