Description

Morris Industries is a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of air seeding, tillage, and hay hauling equipment.  

We are recruiting for a Purchasing Agent to join our Operations Department. You will be based in Yorkton, SK.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchase designated services, raw materials and goods for the Manufacturing, R&D and Tool & Die departments.
Ensure vendors provide adequate value, quality and delivery performance.
Establish quantities of inventory required from the various departments and establish pricing and delivery dates from vendor selection and confirm these orders to the vendor.
Complete all necessary documentation, forms, invoices required for the administrative requirements of the position.
Generate material transfers between plants.
Enter data and computer transactions into the computer regarding pricing changes, costs, reports and inventory stock.
Prepare pricing reports for Costing, Manufacturing Engineering and R&D for cost studies.
Handle vendor calls.
Maintain vendor evaluation records.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of Grade XII supplemented by courses related to Purchasing or relevant experience.  
Four to five years experience in the Purchasing field would be a definite asset.  
Must possess the ability to negotiate and make sound business decisions.  
Must possess excellent planning, organizational and communication skills, along with computer literacy (PC and Mainframe based) in BAAN, Windows, word processing and spreadsheets
