Assistant to Judicial Programs Moose Jaw
Salary: $14.00/hr
Position Status: Term 8 weeks
Hrs of work: 35 hours per week
Under the supervision of the Director of Judicial Programs, the Assistant to Judicial Program will assist in daily office duties and provide support to the judicial casework staff.
Duties
Greet clients on arrival at office and direct clients to program staff or assist as needed.
Answer incoming calls, forward to respective program staff and/or provide basic program information.
Assist Caseworkers and Assistant Program Coordinator, such as performing data entry to open and close case files and other basic case management duties.
Compile/gather statistics, update records; prepare documents; filing.
Provide assistance in the Fine Option Program.
Provide assistance in Crime Prevention Summer programming
Conduct research and develop/update presentations on a variety of topics related to crime prevention and judicial programs.
Knowledge
An understanding and commitment to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the John Howard Society.
Some familiarity with the problems and characteristics of disadvantaged persons.
A general understanding of restorative justice and processes.
Working knowledge of office/admin functions and procedures, office/computer equipment, email, internet and MS Office software products.
Skills
Good communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
Good computer operations and research skills
Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a good working relationship with staff and clients
Qualifications
Must meet all requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program
Must be legally entitled to work in Saskatchewan and able to speak and write English
Preference given to individuals enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the work of John Howard Society
