Description

Specific Responsibilities:



Prepare samples, dilutions, reagents, instrument operating solutions, calibration standards, and reference materials for analysis;
Prepare Spectrophotometers and/or ICP Instrumentation;
Analyze samples of different matrices using laboratory instrumentation to generate accurate results for clients;
Interpret data, conduct calculations and transfer data into electronic data collection software;
Evaluate data and troubleshoot problems with the data/extraction/instrumentation;
Perform instrument/equipment calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or repairs as required;
Organize workload to meet Turn Around Times (TATs);
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned;
Assist in other areas of the lab as required;
Meet company standards pertaining to quality and quantity of work performed on ongoing basis; perform all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all company policies and procedures. Adhere to strict QA/QC requirements;
Adhere to Company policies, procedures and directions regarding standard of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments;

Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;

Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

Able lift up to 30 lbs./14 kg on a regular basis and carry for short distances;

Able to sit or stand for a full shift;
Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
Able to climb stairs;
Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required.

Ability to stand for up to a full shift;
Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
