Job Description: The Clinical Support Nurse is a highly visible and responsive member of the code blue/outreach team who will assist in providing the critical care intervention required to manage patients with deteriorating conditions ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex. The incumbent also acts as a mentor, providing general clinical and educational support to patients and nursing staff while demonstrating a caring approach, an understanding of the nursing process, a conceptual model for practice, and the philosophy, objectives and standards of the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
Required Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current CPR Certification
Experience
A minimum of one (1) year full time (or equivalent) critical care nursing experience within the last three (3) years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
Demonstrates a consultative collaborative approach with nursing and medical staff
Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
Demonstrates critical thinking to creatively solve problems in a resourceful manner
Ability to perform 12-lead ECG's, teach others to perform 12-lead ECGs, and to identify lethal dysrythmias, ST elevation/depression, and rhythm changes.
Demonstrates the ability to encourage, advise and cooperate with colleagues to promote and maintain positive relationships and support learning and knowledge transfer
