Description

Base Operations provides production and installation services including new Civil and Municipal roadway and parking lot construction and rehabilitation, and site development including asphalt and concrete paving.
Heavy Equipment Operators will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment which may include:
backhoe, excavator, loaders, bulldozer, front end loader, skid steer, roller, etc.  Operators will use heavy equipment to perform a variety of tasks which may include: fine grading and finishing, landscaping, back-filling, excavation, rough grading, stumping, sub-grade excavating, trenching, material handling, and slope grooming.
Responsibilities
Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury or property damage.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Clean heavy equipment as required.
Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
Routine Maintenance.
Complete and maintain daily operating & safety records
Advise mechanics of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of safety rules, instructions and policies, workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
Knowledge of industrial, commercial, and road construction
Strong verbal & listening skills
Time management skills
Must be honest, and trustworthy, respectful, flexible and have good work ethics
Requirements
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and reliable transportation
Completion of Safety and First Aid courses would be an asset.
Must arrive at work Fit for Duty as required.
May be required to take a drug and alcohol test
