Description

The Child Support Worker is responsible on a 24 hour basis to provide a safe/nurturing environment in a residential setting to ensure the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of five female youth between the ages of 12-17. The Child Support Worker will ensure the care and welfare of the children in the Residential Care Home by enforcing operating policies, the rules & regulations, and by monitoring the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility. The Child Support Worker is directly accountable to the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications:

This position requires a person: who has the ability to work alone/independently and as part of a team; demonstrates respect for all clients and co-workers as well as their decisions and choices; who sets effective limits in performing duties; who works to empower children; who can provide clear information, education, boundaries, safety and access to resources; who knows how to care for themselves appropriately; and who is a healthy role model for Children as well as the following:

- Minimum 1 year certificate in the basic human field or three (3) years experience in the social, health or human service field.
- Good oral and written communication and interpersonal relation skills.
- Certification in first and CPR.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of adolescent growth, development and behavior and community resources.
- Ability to interact positively with adolescents on an emotional, recreational, social and cultural basis.
- Reliable and responsible.
- Valid Saskatchewan driver's license.
- Ability to pass security clearances as required.
- Knowledge of working with challenging behaviors.
- provide securty clearances prior to offer of employment
