Description

Churchill Community High School Daycare is a seeking a permanent full time Early Childhood Educator.  CCHS Daycare is a 32 space facility. The Early Childhood Educators primary duty is to provide quality care in all areas of development in order to maintain the well-being of the children. The Early Childhood Educator is directly responsible to the Director, and in her absence, the acting Director. The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program for the children in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following:
Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program
Ensure equipment and childcare room is clean and sanitized daily, well maintained and safe at all times
Develop daily activity plans
Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities
Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts
Be familiar with emergency procedures
Ensure children are supervised at all times
Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
Establish routines and provide positive guidance
Provide a safe and secure environment for children
Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their childs progress.
Other duties as assigned by Director
The successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
Early Childhood Education Training or the commitment to take the necessary training
Must have Valid Class 5 Drivers License and own vehicle
Maintain a current CPR and First aid
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrate positive attitude, leadership skills and be a role model for all staff
Have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check
