Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual for the position of Mental Wellness Teams Coordinator in the Health and Social Development Department. Reporting to the Director of Health and Social Development, the Mental Wellness Teams Coordinator is responsible to increase the awareness, knowledge and skills of the Mental Wellness Teams of the YTC communities. The Mental Wellness Teams Coordinator will promote healthy life style choices and cultural participation.
Reporting to the Director of Health and Social Development, the Mental Health Coordinator position is responsible for the following:
Duties:
    Prepare program activities and work plans
    Network with communities
    Coordinate training for Mental Wellness Teams
    Assist with crisis response team at the YTC level
    Assist and enhance First Nations wellness programs and initiatives\ Deliver Life Skills Models to Communities in the areas of: Grief, Self Esteem, Personal Growth, Leadership in Youth, Empowering Youth, Group Counseling
    Focus on all mental health related issues (family violence, addictions, treatment and healing)
Qualifications:
    Must have a minimum of five years experience in managing counseling and/or addictions programs supported by the knowledge and understanding of First Nations language, culture, traditions and social issues.
    Must have a degree in the social sciences, and specialized training in counseling and addictions or an equivalent combination of experience and training.  
    Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid drivers license & maintain throughout employment, have a reliable vehicle, and must submit a current Criminal Record Check.
    Work irregular or extended hours to complete special requests and/or projects
    Must manage a number of people, priorities and projects at one time, and may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
