We are looking for a Fire Protection Technician/Electrician to install, connect, test, maintain and repair fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, exit signs, and extinguishers. Travel required.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventive fire alarm inspections and maintenance to include operation, cleaning, maintaining and repairing, surveying and documenting components of electrical distribution system.
Install, maintain, repair and operate building electrical systems and components of high-voltage electrical distribution system.
May be required to coordinate activities with engineers and contractors. Provide input related to electrical power outages.
Perform preventive inspections and maintenance to emergency lighting, exit signs, extinguishers and other related fire protection equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma, Associate's Degree or 2 years college course work in electrical field - Work Experience: at least 2 years job related experience.
Language: English (Native speaker level) - Certificate and/or license to work on job related field is a must.
This job requires working knowledge of electrical systems at the intermediate level, National Electrical Code, building support/maintenance, electronics, general construction, utilities, equipment installation, safety procedures, mathematics, reading prints, drawings and schematics, operation of machine tools, hand/power tools and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
Attention to detail essential as working with life safety devices.
Must be bondable.
Drivers license required.
CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) certification is required.
