Description

The Summer Youth Maintenance Worker will work as part of a team to maintain the property at Wakaw Lake that is used to operate the Wakaw Summer Camp Days 2019 project.
Tasks and Responsibilities will include:
Mowing, trimming, and general upkeep of property.
Proper maintenance and use of tools and equipment
Building small projects for the camp while learning how to safely operate power tools
Garbage removal
General building maintenance and upkeep
Gathering, Chopping and Stacking wood for campfires
Cleaning of facilities as needed
Following the guidance and instructions of the Maintenance supervisor and completing tasks as
required in a timely and safe manor
Maintaining EGADZ gardens:
Helping with planting, weeding, watering, upkeep and harvest of the three gardens on the property. Teaching visitors to the site about the vegetables and fruits being grown and the work being done around the gardens by giving tours and information sessions
Assisting with harvesting and distribution of vegetables
To be eligible, Applicants must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
