Description

Kelly Panteluk Construction Ltd. (KPCL) is hiring an experienced safety advisor for work around Saskatoon area and at our project locations.

Applicants must have a valid driver license, pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test, be competent using Microsoft Office products. Preference is given to candidates with CSO-NCSO designation and previous experience on civil construction projects.

Key duties include:
A. Actively participating and engaging others in a culture of safety
B. Implementing and monitoring adherence to HSE program and assisting in the revision and updates of policies, procedures and practices
C. Inspecting earthworks and support operations to ensure compliance with HSE and Clients HSE programs
D. Ensuring sites and equipment satisfy Occupational HSE standards for compliance, audits and protocols
E. Undertaking risk assessments, including but not limited to the development of safe work plans, and following up with mitigation
F. Conducting orientations/ training to ensure all employees are competently trained for assigned tasks and arranging pre-employment requirements
G. Collaborating with Supervision to host daily toolbox meetings and other safety meetings
H. Investigating, tracking and reporting all near misses, accidents/ incidents, injuries and/ or unsafe acts or conditions as required
I. Communicating information clearly and effectively to all co-workers, foreman and Superintendents
J. Listening and carrying out instructions diligently, and speaking up when instructions are unclear, not understood or the hazards are not identified or mitigated
K. Working cooperatively with client and client representatives, this includes but is not limited to preparing reports and participating in weekly progress meetings
L. Willingness to travel between jobsites and work overtime when required
M. Any other duties as may be assigned, from time to time

 

Skills and Abilities

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
 - Trade certification in related field
