Reporting to the Foreman, the Journeyman Crane Operator assumes responsibility for all general crane operating duties required on industrial scope construction projects.
This position is based in the Regina, SK area on a client site.
Working Conditions
40-hour work week
Overtime to be as required
Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
Working in and around noise and dust
Responsibilities
Crane Operating
Ensure all required safety equipment is in unit prior to doing job.
Use tools and equipment, organizes work.
Determines load weights, calculates crane capacity, performs rigging calculations.
Perform pre-operational checks and regular inspections, performs continual checks, perform minor crane maintenance rigging calculations.
Inspect and maintain slings and hardware, follow rigging procedures.
Perform pre-lifting planning, sets up crane.
Perform basic crane operations, operates friction and hydraulic drive lattice boom cranes, hydraulic boom cranes, performs specialty craning operation, secures crane.
Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
Ensure tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
Report all incidents, near miss incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
Qualifications
Journeyman Crane Operator ticket
Valid drivers licence
Valid Fall protection, CSTS-0.9, WHMIS, and First Aid
Valid Forklift ticket and a valid Skid Steer/Zoom Boom ticket would be an asset;
Industrial plant experience is an asset
Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
Positive attitude to safety
Physical Requirements
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 25kg
Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
Exposure to hazards
