Description

Brandt is currently seeking a skilled Millwright who has experience with industrial equipment operation and maintenance. The responsibility of the Millwright/Industrial Mechanic is to build and install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, engineered drawings, and other specifications as presented by the operations and engineering departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, etc.
Have an excellent understanding of engineered drawings, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Dismantle, assemble and align industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications
Demonstrate safe rigging practices, operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, and repair of machinery
Test and provide constructive feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment
Work in an environment where the products and jobs are continually changing
Must have solid working knowledge of mechanical drives and assemblies


Qualifications:
Five years practical experience in the millwright trade
Journeypersons certification from a recognized trade school, not required but is considered a   major asset
Successful candidate may need to do shift work, overtime and customer site work
Strong ability to teach and train apprentices and other staff as required
Knowledge and execution of workplace safety, safe rigging & hoisting practices
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Ability to read schematics, engineered drawings and other technical diagrams
Critical eye for identifying defects and a high attention to detail
Physical activity (Physical assessment may be required by Brandt)
English language or English language training is an asset (English language assessment may be requested by Brandt)
