Churchill Community High School Daycare is a seeking a permanent part time janitor. CCHS Daycare is a 5 room facility with 32 children. The janitor is responsible for providing quality cleaning and sanitization as per childcare centre regulations. Our goal is to maintain a safe clean facility and ensure the well-being of the children. The janitor is directly responsible to the Centre Director, and in her absence, the Supervisor. The janitor works in consultation with the Centre Director to ensure the smooth operation of the Daycare facility and its janitorial needs.
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following:
Ensure equipment and childcare room is clean and sanitized daily, well-maintained and safe at all times.
Ensure floors are clean (swept and mopped) in all childcare rooms.
Vacuum carpets (daily) and steam carpets (4x/annually).
Use cleaning solutions to remove any stains and clean surfaces.
Clean windows and mirrors.
Dust and wipe down furniture as needed.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms.
Replenish toilet tissue and soaps as needed.
Empty all garbage cans and place garbage in outside storage bin.
Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks as locking all doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliances to ensure that hazards are not created.
Perform other related duties as required by the Daycare Director.
The successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
Have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check
Closing Date: Until suitable candidate is found
Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage: As per organization wage grid
