Description

Westmoreland Mining Holdings LLC currently has a position available for a permanent, full-time Journeyman Welder at the Estevan mine. Working as a team member in the maintenance department, you will be responsible for the safe repair and maintenance of equipment at the mine.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of a Journeyman Welder include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the maintenance of draglines, coal handling facilities, drills and other mine related equipment;
- Must be able to weld on all mine equipment including coal haulers and track type earth movers;
- Must be able to perform assigned tasks at heights on any mining equipment (i.e. elevated boom point and mast of draglines);
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures;
- Support the mine site in compliance with all mine regulations; and
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman Welder status as well as an interprovincial Red Seal
- Class 1A or 3A driver's license is preferred
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- Ability to work 12-hour shift rotations, days and nights
- Previous mining experience would be an asset but not required
