Northern Strands is currently recruiting to fill a Warehouse General Laborer position. This role will perform a variety of tasks. Primarily, assisting in loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials. In addition, they will assist with preparing materials and items to fill request from the Order Desk, packing, checking, shipping materials, receiving materials, and storing items in appropriate inventory locations. The warehouse General Laborer reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assemble containers and crates, record contents
in computer system, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping
instructions.
Assist with loading and unloading of goods.
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices record shortages and reject damaged goods.
Unpack, code/tag and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
Pick items to fill customer requests from Order
Desk and Outside Sales.
Follow all applicable procedures.
Contact carriers to arrange for shipping goods.
Assist with reeling rope for customer orders.
Ensure that master reels are marked correctly
immediately after a cut and that rope is tagged
appropriately for easy identification.
Assist with building wire rope slings and small
assemblies.
Assist with cleaning, maintaining and repairing
equipment as required.
Any other duties as requested by your Manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum two years experience in a warehouse
environment would be beneficial
Any safety related training courses would be
beneficial (ex. Fork Lift Training)
Drivers license is required.
