Description

Reporting to the Project Manager, the HSE Lead is responsible for the planning, coordinating and implantation of occupational health and safety programs.

This position is based in Regina, Saskatchewan on a client site.

Responsibilities

HSE Management
Understand and adhere to Stuart Olsons safety management system, policies, procedures and values.
Maintain timely and accurate safety reporting, including incident reports, leading and trailing indicators.
Update safety pre-qualification sites.
Improve consistency in the safety procedures across operating companies.
Communicate safety material to management, field safety advisors and supervision.
Take lead role for monthly safety meeting.
Visibility in the field and take a lead role in establishing safety leadership presence in the field.
Ensure that safety standards are maintained and continually seek ways to improve safety standards.
Establish and ensure implantation of best safety practices.
Advise management on all matters pertaining to safety and health including compliance with Stuart Olsons regulations on safety and health.
Ensure all personnel have received appropriate safety and health training as stipulated in HSE manual.
Conduct safety department reviews regularly to ensure the health and safety objectives are being met.
Investigate and report all reportable accidents: internally to relevant persons, and externally to the relevant authorities.
Brief and instruct sub-contractors on the safety and health procedures and instructions that they are required to comply with.
Prepare a project Site Safety Management Plan.

Qualifications
Safety Certification with good knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
Formal training in Safety and Risk Management
8-10 years experience in HSE managerial roles
Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information effectively with a high level of accuracy
