Description

Reporting to the Project Manager in the region, the Civil Superintendent will be responsible for construction of civil infrastructure projects.

This position is based in the Regina, Saskatchewan area.

Responsibilities

Site Supervision
Implementation of health, safety and environmental procedures on site in accordance with legislation and company policy to ensure the safety of all workers.
Effectively manage own workforce, equipment, and materials, to attain goals.
Ensure cost control measures are being followed to meet project budgets.
Coordinating of personnel and equipment resources.
Preconstruction activities such as schedule development, construction sequencing and value engineering.
Work closely with the project manager, project coordinator, owner, inspectors and regulatory agencies to prepare and execute project plans.
Achieve project milestones by developing look-ahead schedules and identifying deliverables for own forces.
Implement corrective action where necessary to meet key milestone dates.
Identify, address and resolve issues and problems
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants and sub-trades.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or diploma in construction management or other relevant field
10 years of hands on experience in the capacity of site superintendent
Record of success on projects up to $20 million+ with effective decision making capabilities
Experience should include direct site management of utility work, earthworks, site service packages, structural concrete work, and road construction works
Familiarity with contract administration, understanding blueprints, architectural and engineering standards and building practices
Excellent budgeting, costing and scheduling skills
Strong leadership skills with experience managing all disciplines and sub-trades (including both employees and contractors)
Strong computer skills, MS Office
