Hope's Home provides childcare services & supportive living homes for children with complex medical needs across Saskatchewan. Our unique programs allow passionate individuals to make a difference in our communities. Visit our website for more information.

The Rec Programmer provides community and in-house programming for children with complex medical needs, creating an environment that promotes learning, individuality, growth and development while upholding the highest standards of care for the children at our supportive living home. 10 hour days and rotation of shifts can vary, term is for 6 months with possibility of extension into permanent.

Key Responsibilities

-Plan daily experiences/programming that support the development of each childs physical, emotional, social, communicative, cognitive and creative skills

-Arrange community involvement

-Develop program plans by use of recreation and leisure to promote independence and enhance quality of life

-Assess each childs needs, functional abilities and leisure behaviors

-Write various records to document developmental milestones and set goals

-Attend to personal care as required

-Attend childrens therapy appointments as needed, performing therapies in-house under the direction of applicable professionals

-Maintain communications with childs outside support when developing goals and care plans

-Assist managers in overseeing and leading staff

-Work with floor staff on minor house concerns when necessary to ensure the health and safety of children are being met

-Guide staff and provide constructive feedback on work performance

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

-Completion of Early Childhood Education Diploma or Recreational Therapy diploma or degree

-Related training surrounding children with special needs

-Minimum one year with program and planning experience

-First Aid/CPR Level C
