Pathways Learning Centre is seeking a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our preschool team. Pathways offers an inclusive private preschool program with a foundation of developing early language, social communication, and pre-literacy skills for our students. The SLP on our preschool team works with the classroom teacher to create individualized goals for each student, and implements ongoing assessment/therapy, and staff consultation, to help the students achieve those goals. Our learning environment is collaborative and includes multiple professionals; as such, teamwork and supervisory skills are essential.
Our preschool SLP position involves twelve contracted hours per week from September 9th, 2019-June 17th, 2020, excluding school breaks/holidays. Services provided will be for the preschool students, who range from 2- to 5-years-old. The preschool SLP will also supervise and delegate work to a Speech-Language Assistant.
Pathways Learning Centre is also a private clinic environment of passionate professionals, aiming to provide multi-disciplinary supports to clients of all ages. Our clinical team involves private SLPs, Occupational Therapists, Music Therapist, and more. The successful candidate may also join this growing practice, and will have the option to increase to full time hours by building an individual caseload outside of the preschool time, if he/she chooses.
Minimum Requirements:
- Masters in Speech-Language Pathology
- Existing, or eligible for, SASLPA registration
- 1-2 years pediatric experience preferred
- Spoken/written proficiency in English
- First aid, CPR-C/AED
- Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sectors checks required upon hire.
