Description

Our client has an immediate full-time permanent opportunity available for an Agronomist.  


Responsibilities:
    Accountable for contributing to crop input sales by leading with knowledge to position products that proactively help farm customers grow better crops.
    Successfully work directly with farm customers to provide agronomic and crop production solutions.
    Help existing and prospect customers to grow better crops through making sound crop production and risk management decisions by focusing on crop planning, seed selection, nutrient, weed, disease, insect and harvest management
    Effectively work with the location sales team in positioning products that proactively help farm customers grow better crops
    Execute on companys crop input market development plans by participating in customer field meetings, facilitating customer agronomy events, marketing support, delivering crop planning services and maintaining good relationships with key crop input suppliers
    Act as the expert in crop production for the location team and provide crop production training to the team.
    Provide leadership, coaching, direction and training to Agronomic Interns, working collaboratively with the sales team and other Agronomists.



Qualifications:
    Minimum 1 year of field and industry experience required
    Eligible for membership in the Provincial Institute of Agrologist
    CCA accreditation or willingness to challenge exams and obtain accreditation when eligible
    Technically sound agronomy knowledge
    Possess a valid Canadian Drivers License
    Strong understanding of agronomic services, farm customers and the agriculture industry in Canada
    Strong knowledge of crop inputs business and the significance of supplier relationships
    Strong understanding of Canadian agricultural production and farm management
    Solid sales aptitude is an asset
