There is an opportunity in the role of Farm Manager at one of Saskatchewans largest hatching egg facilities.
Salary and benefits are negotiable for the right individual and based on level of experience. On-farm accommodations will also be provided.
This position requires on-farm expertise in the handling and care for both pullets and breeders. Supervision of staff members and the ability to work with remote ownership are necessary.
Duties include:
Barn preparations
Raising pullets
Arranging for vaccination crews
Vaccinating chickens
Keeping Farm records
Ensuring feed and water, air quality, monitor pullet health, taking action on any signs of disease or injury
Tracking consumption and body weights
Barn cleaning and disinfection
Collecting and weighing eggs
Record management for CHEQ, Animal care and biosecurity programs
Coordinating with feed representatives on feeding program and weighing birds
Pest control
Lawn and equipment maintenance
Responding to emergency calls.
Arranging for egg collection staff
Coordinating with remote ownership
Other duties as required
