Description

Doepker Industries Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of highway semi-trailers in western Canada.  The company is continually developing new and innovative designs for our customers from coast to coast.

We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Team Leader. The focus of the position is to actively promote a safety conscious company culture with the ultimate goal being to eliminate workplace incidents.
        
Key accountabilities include:
Reviewing and ensuring consistent application of safe work practices;
Ensuring company safety programs meet legislative requirements;
Providing ongoing risk management by identifying risks and hazards and helping to identify root causes; implement preventative measures to lower risks, hazards and injuries;
Acting as an advisor and a resource of safety policies and procedures to all Doepker employees;
Updating, maintaining and delivering safety orientations, and on-going training and awareness programs for employees to ensure compliance with provincial legislative requirements and company SOIs (Safe Operating Instructions);
Contributing to the continuous improvement of Doepker Health & Safety policies, procedures and practices by developing, implementing, reviewing, seeking input and suggesting changes to documents, practices, policies and programs;
Acting as a liaison between regulatory bodies and the company.

Required Qualifications:
Occupational Health & Safety related experience in a manufacturing environment;
MSP (Manufacturing Safety Professional) or CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation or willingness to attain the designation;
Ability to travel between all DIL manufacturing plants is a requirement;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
