Description

ABOUT:
Harvest Community Inc. has been providing work and training opportunities for people with special needs for over 40 years.  We currently have an opening for a Disability Support Worker for our day program.  The successful candidate will act as a substitute driver for the transportation of intellectually disabled adults to and from our work site and in delivering finished materials to our customers and/or freight companies.  Certification and experience working with various equipment, including a forklift is necessary.  This work is particularly suitable for those with a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and most importantly, with a vocation to help those with special needs.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To be a role model in the work place.  A positive attitude is a must.
2. To support, and work alongside Day Program Participants performing work activities in the day program and the farm site.
3. To act as a substitute driver of the shuttle bus that carries Day Program Participants to and from site.
4. To assist in the loading, moving, storage and unloading of production materials and finished product.
5. To deliver finished product material to customers/freight companies in Regina and area as directed.
6. To assist and take instruction from the Transport and Maintenance Supervisor.
7. To assist with work projects such as test leads, cable markers, etc.
8. To communicate effectively with other staff.
9. To support handi-flag production and other light assembly production and ensuring high quality products that are up to industry standards.
10. To express any concerns regarding Program Participants to the Program Manager who will in turn address any issues.
11. To attend training opportunities as directed.
12. Other related duties as assigned.
