Description

We are currently recruiting for a Mental Health & Wellness Instructor who will work as part of a team dedicated to the success of students.As an educational leader in the classroom the instructor in Mental Health & Wellness program will be responsible for delivering Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology (SIIT) programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting, organizing and implementing instructional activities which create a learning environment that guides and provides the greatest opportunity for student success.

Courses include but are not limited to:  Concurrent Disorders; Indigenous Care Practices; Counseling Theories; Domestic Violence; Abuse and Trauma; Emotional and Behavioral Issues with Youth; Ethics & the Legalities; Grief & Loss; Human Development; Professional Practices for Mental Health & Wellness; Recreation, Leisure & Wellness; Field Placement 111,  Field Placement IV.  Additional duties include: classroom management, taking attendance, monitoring student progress, submitting reports, and other duties as assigned.  

The minimal qualifications for this position are: a Bachelor of Education Degree or a Bachelor of Social Work Degree; a thorough understanding of Aboriginal Culture in northern Saskatchewan; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a valid driverss license; and the ability to obtain a full satisfactory security clearance for practicum facilities. This program is accredited through Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology (SIIT) instructors must meet the requirements of the accrediting institute.
