The Town of Pilot Butte is currently accepting applications for a permanent full-time Public Works Operator.
Working under the Director of Public Works and Maintenance Operations and the Public Works Operator Lead, the successful applicant will be able to perform the following duties:
All seasons maintenance: clear snow, cut grass, fix roads and street signs, paint street lines, paint/minor carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, emission testing for Zamboni
Greenspace maintenance throughout town limits approaches, around culverts, light posts, signage, etc.
Operating ice making and resurfacing equipment in the production and maintenance of arena ice
Monitor refrigeration equipment, including taking and recording readings and reporting issues, checking, adjusting and performing routine repairs and maintenance tasks on equipment and ensuring ice quality is maintained
Routine janitorial duties such as cleaning public areas, washrooms and change rooms
Carry out security checks on facility
Ensure patrons adhere to the facility rules and regulations
Operate various pieces of equipment including, but not limited to, skid steer, power mowers, weed wackers, etc.
Follow direction and carry out duties as delegated by the Public Works and Maintenance Operations or Public Works Operator Lead
WHMIS, First Aid/CPR and SPRA Arena 1 are preferred qualifications.
A valid class 5 drivers licence with a clean drivers abstract will are required. The successful applicant must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check record.
Prior knowledge and experience with facility maintenance and custodial/janitorial duties and related skills will be considered an asset.
This position consists of shift work that currently works 10 hour shifts with every other weekend off in accordance with the Towns Averaging of Hours Permit.
