Description

Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Cook  at Yorkton Crossing a 79 suite retirement community, located in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, the Cook position is a member of the team to produce meals and promote a safe/ efficient culinary service. Responsible for the operations of a busy kitchen in manner that follows the regulatory regulations of a multi-service kitchen.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    Scheduled cleaning and tracking of various temp logs
    Follow menus and daily food productions schedules
    Prepare nutritious meals in a manner that is appealing in presentation and taste
    Maintaining positive relationship among team members
    Understand special diets and prepare as per individual client need
    Adhere to regulations for handling and storing food
    Supervision of operations in the kitchen and dining room in the absence of the Director of Culinary Services or Sous Chef
    Adhere to established department policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, and environment and infection control.
    Other duties assigned by the manager

QUALIFICATIONS
    
    Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and presentation
    Organizational skills are essential
    Secondary education in culinary studies an asset
    Experience in a Retirement home community environment or a large restaurant an asset
    Team player
    Able to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure.
    Food safety course required
