The Department of Curriculum Studies, University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a two-year term position at the Lecturer level beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year with a focus on teacher education, specifically in the area of social studies education as defined by the Saskatchewan curriculum.
As a key member of an innovative and dynamic College, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate social studies education at Early Years, Middle, and Secondary levels. The ideal candidate will possess an earned PhD in Social Studies Education, a Masters degree in the appropriate specialization is the minimum requirement for this position. Applicants must have relevant Pre-K to grade 12 teaching experience; teaching experience at the post-secondary level is considered an asset. The individual is required to have, or be eligible to receive, a valid Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses in social studies education and education across the Faculty. In addition, applicants will demonstrate the ability and expertise to work with community partners in social studies education. The requirements of this lecturer position do not include conducting research, providing service, or contributing to collegial processes in the College of Education.
