Description

Loraas Disposal North Ltd. is currently looking for a Payroll Accountant to join our Administrative team.

Responsibilities
- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with all contractual and statutory requirements so employees are paid appropriately and necessary deductions are made
- Adequate internal financial controls exist and are followed in the areas of responsibility
- Complies with all contractual and legislated payroll mandates including payroll deduction remittances, T4 returns and summaries, WCB Employer Payroll Annual Statement, and Records of Employment are issued to employees by the prescribed deadline
- Prepare working papers, reconciliations, accruals and other journal entries for the month end and year end as required
- Share knowledge with colleagues/team members relating to own specialization
- Implement quality control measures
- Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes.
- Maintain employee payroll records up-to-date and accurate.
- Address payroll related queries and requests from employees.
- Coordinate with HR to carry out payroll processing.

Qualifications
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification, however not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in an operations environment.
- Solid understanding of The Saskatchewan Employment Act.
- Effectively work as a member of the administration team.

- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple clients.
- Ability to analyze/interpret data and take appropriate action.
- Working knowledge of payroll software (preferably Sage300), Internet Explorer, Word and Excel.
