JOB DESCRIPTION:
Operate batch furnaces and induction hardener to heat treat metal/harden parts according to customer specifications.
Prepare parts for heat treat as needed.
Monitor parts in furnace to ensure correct processing time, gases and temperatures.
Use forklift and overhead cranes to move and load parts.
Test parts for hardness case depth and communicate problems, verbally and/or in writing, to coworkers in order to maintain quality.
Record processing steps, times, and temperatures including furnace charts for inspection and billing.
Must be able to work in a hot environment.
Some shift work is required.
