Carry The Kettle First Nations requires a conscientious, motivated and career-minded School Principal to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the educational facility; ensuring that School policies, regulations, and procedures are observed and that all students are supervised in a safe and welcoming learning environment. He or she will work with all school staff to provide leadership regarding the school's curricula, financial and procedural administration, scheduling, extracurricular activities, emergency operations, facilities management and the management of conduct and discipline.Other duties will be assigned as required.
Job Duties
Maintain and promote high standards for all staff and students with regards to academic performance and personal growth, responsibility, and character.
Manage, evaluate and supervise the conduct of procedures, operations, curricula, extracurricular activity, and discipline to ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment.
Oversee program evaluation, personnel management, office operations, emergency management, and school budgets.
Oversee all discipline and attendance measures.
Address inquiries from parents, students, staff and the Board.
Display highly ethical, professional behavior, serving as a role model for all staff and students.
Requirements
Valid teaching certificate.
Bachelor of Education, Master's Degree preferred.
5-10 years of educational administration experience.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, public relations and teamwork skills.
Strong oral and written skills.
Ability to work effectively with school personnel, parents, students, and community members.
Aware of and ability to appropriately interpret all applicable Laws and regulations for education, policies, and practices.
Previous experience teaching in a First Nations community would be an asset
Knowledge of Nakoda Language, Culture and Traditions would be an asset.
