The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill a 3 month Customer Service Representative position. Under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor, the Customer Service Representative is the initial point of contact and the primary liaison between the public and the Treasury Branch.
This position will perform the following duties:
- Receive and receipt various payments and other remittances at the Cashier's wicket
- Balance daily cash registered totals
- Perform various filing and typing duties
- Assist in collection of outstanding receivables, returned cheques, etc. as well as all outgoing notices produced in the Treasury Branch
- Assist Utilities with utility billings, deposits, transfer and meter reading requests, issuing work orders and data entry
- Assist Taxation with general tax account inquiries
- Act as receptionist at the inquiry desk
- Issue parking permits and bus passes
- Receive and process all mail
Qualified applicants will possess:
- Grade 12 plus 1 year post secondary education in Administration, Finance, Business or a related field
- 2 years' related experience in cash handling
- 1 year related experience in customer service and office administration
- Accurate data entry and word processing (8000 kph)
- Experience with computer software packages including spreadsheets and word processing
- Able to communicate clearly, effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal courteously, effectively and tactfully with the public
- Fully bondable
