Position Overview
The Dental Therapist will work in the community of Southend and report directly to the Health Director. They are responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive dental health program to meet the dental needs of the community.
General Responsibilities
Developing and implementing a comprehensive preventative dental health program through education and treatment that meets the dental needs within the community;
Providing restorative procedures within the scope of practice of a Dental Therapist;
Performing uncomplicated extractions as required;
Providing emergency services as required that are within the dental therapy guidelines;
Referring clients for further dental care as required;
Providing direction, support and supervision to the Dental Assistant;
Servicing and maintaining all dental equipment and supplies;
Completing dental charting of clients care;
Completing and submitting all recording and reporting requirements in a timely manner;
Work collaboratively with other health care providers
Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Dental Therapy and registered to practice in the Province of Saskatchewan
Experience: Preferably a minimum of two years
Must have proficient computer skills;
Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license;
Must have a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills;
Self-motivated and able to work independently;
Pass a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons Clearance;
Ability to speak Cree is an asset;
