As the Student Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive student life framework for programming across the College that meets the needs of students, so they can participate in positive campus life experiences. The Student Activities Coordinator is responsible to enhance the growth and development of all students by providing social, cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities for all students to engage with the campus and the community.
Essential Job Functions
Key responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plan and organize recreational and cultural opportunities, both on and off campus, to provide varied options for student participation.
Ensure that those programs are organized and executed at a high professional level with appropriate adult supervision and consistent student participation.
Ensure that program offerings are adequately planned, equipped and supervised.
Work closely with Houseparents to ensure and increase student involvement in the organized groups.
Develop student leadership skills through the Student Representative Council, and Student Leadership Conventions.
Promotes, organizes, schedules and supervises and oversee an intramural sports program.
Organize and promote student-organized groups which develop community involvement such as Students Against Drunk Driving, Relay for Life and the Terry Fox run.
Plan and organize special events for the students on and off-campus such as 3-4 dances per school year, Grade 12 Leadership Day, Turnaround Day, and Alumni Weekend Fun Day.
Develop annual and long-range plans for student activities, as well as submitting a monthly calendar of events.
Develop and submit budgets for activities.
Fundraise with students for extra resources.
