Description

Summary:

The Library Page performs duties related to technical and circulation services. Main duties include shelving library materials, scanning shelves for materials for processing or modification and preparing material for binding.

Job Duties:

Collect, sort and shelve library material according to the classification system
Clean Shelves
Scan shelves regularly and remove library materials requiring modification and process them or forward them to the appropriate area or person for processing
Respond to general patron enquiries, referring them to resource persons as necessary
Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

Working knowledge of library filing and shelving
Able to work with minimal supervision
Professional appearance and deportment
Ability to use office equipment such as photocopier, printer
Able to lift a box of books
Acceptable criminal record check required

Work Conditions:

Manual dexterity required
Lifting or moving up to 25 lbs may be required
Necessary crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
Desirable Skills and Abilities:
Previous library experience preferred
Previous experience serving the public
