Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Create an economic development strategy for the community.
-Researches and provides recommendations based on the evaluation of economic development studies and statistics.
-Acts as a liaison between local organizations, businesses, individuals and representatives of council and administration.
-Develop partnerships within the community to develop and promote economic development opportunities.
-Conduct surveys and research on market opportunities.
-Represent the community at regional, territorial and national meetings and tradeshows conferences.
-Co-ordination and development of community promotion including; Town website, newsletter, social media, welcome packages and other promotional material.
-Plan and organize annual Town events.
-Oversee the expenditures of the Planning and Development and Recreation and Parks departments operations.
-Apply for grants related to Economic and Community Development, annual events and programs and assist with infrastructure grants.  
-Submit a written report to Town Council monthly.
-Establish and update policies as needed.
-Preparation of agreements as it relates to the position.
-Preparation of Human Resources letters and documents.
-Assist in Administering Employee benefit plan and communicating benefit packages to employees.
-Assistance with Union matters as needed.  
-Performs other duties as requested by the Town Administrator.

Qualifications:
-Post-Secondary Education in a related field.  
-Related experience within a municipal or government environment.
-An understanding of relevant municipal legislation, policies and procedures.
-Office administration capabilities, including
financial management.
-Extensive technical capabilities including but not limited to: Social Media, Microsoft Publisher, Website Maintenance, and excel.

Salary: $50,000.00 Benefits include SUMA benefits package and MEPP Pension.
