Job Description: APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE PART TIME (2 weeks in 10 weeks out) COMBINED LABORATORY & X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST FOR THE ATHABASCA HEALTH AUTHORITY (AHA).
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Provides safe, competent laboratory and x-ray services within the Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technicians full scope of practice; under physician orders and in collaboration with the physicians and nurses; The Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technician is accountable to the Executive Director of Primary Health Care, and is functionally overseen by the Clinical Coordinator (delegate) when working in the AHA Health Facility; and functions as member of the multidisciplinary health care team to provide quality care, promoting health and holistic wellness, and ensure patient safety; The Combined Lab/ X-Ray Technician supports the Vision, Mission and Values of the Athabasca Health Authority (AHA) while complying with AHAs principles and policies; The Combined Lab/ X-Ray Technician adheres to the established service standards and actively participates in quality improvement activities; and the Combined Lab/ X-Ray Technician performs all duties in conformance with AHAs Code of Ethics and Oath of Confidentiality and functions within the professional conduct and scope of practice as mandated by the Saskatchewan Association of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technicians.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to function competently within the scope of practice as defined by the Saskatchewan Association of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technicians.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the Dene culture.
Interpersonal, organizational and communication skills consistent with establishing and maintaining the working relationships required to effectively perform the role requirements.
